Leaders In Training (L.I.T.) Volunteer Program

**Applications are now available below and are due by June 1, 2021!**

Occurring in connection to our KidsQuest Summer Day Camps, the LIT Program provides youth with a safe space to develop leadership skills. Youth who have completed Grade 7 can apply to become LITs in one or more of our weeks of summer camp. Through this program, youth are encouraged in their leadership development through hands on opportunities, learning from reflecting, teaching, special guests and shadowing. They are also encouraged to be intentional in their learning by developing their own learning goals. Opportunities range from leading games and activities to being more behind the scenes. It’s a great opportunity to make friends, learn leadership skills, and to help campers have an awesome summer! There is no cost to be in the LIT Program.

The earlier you submit the application, the better your chance of getting the weeks you prefer. Any applications received after the deadline will be accepted at the discretion of the LIT Director based on the needs of the Day Camp. You will receive confirmation upon receipt of the application, and our LIT Director will be in touch early in June to confirm the weeks the applicant will be an LIT.

New LITs will be invited to participate in an “LIT Interview”, which we hope will give them some exposure to the workforce and help us get to know them better BUT their acceptance into the program will NOT be dependent on the interview. We generally accept all applicants unless there are red flags in the application process that may impact the safety of our staff or campers. It is also expected that accepted applicants attend an Orientation session so they are clear on what is expected of them as an LIT.

Please note: Returning LITs must have 1 adult non-family member submit a reference form on their behalf. New LITs must have 2 people submit a reference form on their behalf, one of which can be an adult family member, and at least one adult non-family member.
